STARTS AT 6 PM
Leanna Mason is the director of University Place Recreation
She has been an entrepreneur her whole life and ran many businesses. She was a single Mom of 4 young kids when she moved to Fircrest in 1997 to be closer to her Family who lived in UP since 1985. Her 6 younger siblings went to Curtis HS and so did Leanna's 4 Children. She has always loved this area and was a blessing to her family to grow up in this area. She has always loved music growing up and taught performing and singing with Sunshine Generation when she moved to Fircrest. That started in 2001 and quickly developed into a thriving DJ and event planning business with her Dad and kids. Her business was called Rainbow Party Games and later changed to Entertainment Masters. He built 20 portable carnival games for a PTA event and added some concessions to their business and the rest is history! Thousands of events under their belt in the last 24 years and she still loves deejaying, hosting karaoke, spinning cotton candy, making italian sodas, delivering their portable mini golf her Dad built for Chambers Bay opening in 2007 and best of all entertaining for many families, community and business events. Leannas 3 daughters attended the UP Daddy Daughter Dances in 2004 and a few times after with their Dad and Grandpa and then later in 2009 when Leanna started deejaying the Dances for the City up until covid in 2020 when they were cancelled. She has since hosted many other Daddy Daughter Dances but saw the need to bring back the University Place DDD to the City and be able to provide the residents here a local dance instead of going to other City or County events. She has many connections from living here in the area for almost 25 years. She is excited to bring her planning expertise and many fun dances and activities to the City residents to keep the connections local. Partnering with the UP Senior Center, Community Connections and the City of University Place will be a great benefit to assist in their efforts to share and communicate with all residents.

Cassidy Stubbs was born in Boise Id but moved with her family to Fircrest when she was very young. She went to School growing up in the UP School District and got to be a cadet in NJROTC at Curtis HS. She loved doing many volunteer service hours in the Community. She also went to the DDDances with her dad and grandpa back when they first started when she was in Elementary school. Then she would grow up to help host the dances and many other local events with her Families Event Planning business.
After she graduated she worked many jobs in the area growing her skills but loved working at the local Safeway on 40th and Bridgeport where she had shopped many times as a teenager. Now almost 10 years later and she has been the manager at Bliss Ice Cream in UP for over a year back in her hometown. She is excited to be on the committee to bring the joy she felt attending the DDD to many other young girls and dads...
Hi, my name is Makenzie Todd and I love living in university place! I grew up here and went to all the UPS schools and graduated from Curtis high school in 2014. I love going to duck days and the dancers when I was a child and I was I got older helping plan and promote the city events. I am a preschool teacher and have worked in many different roles in the area, such as the YMCA Kindercare, and now Thalia’s garden preschool. I love helping children and sparking joy and I want to spark joy in these events that we do.
Growing up, I love going to the daddy daughter with my dad and my grandpa back in 2005-2008. I was able to walk in the duck days parade for JRotc in high school and youth city council member at the oldest City Hall. It’s so special now that I am able to take my daughter to some of these events now it is a full 360. I have seen so many children grow up and now seeing them as young adults around town is so special.
I want this group and committee to be well known, knowledgeable, and excited to help plan the fares events, movies that you want to be apart of. I know that I am excited of what we can accomplish and this is just the beginning.
